What you’ll be able to do
By the end, you can…
How it works
A tutor that meets you where you are
- Lessons at your levelSeven lessons in two modules. Later lessons are written for your level as you reach them, so you spend time on what you need rather than what you already know.
- An AI tutor you can ask anythingType or speak your questions, such as how to classify a specific kind of paper or whether a detail needs redacting, and get answers in plain language.
- Quizzes and flashcards for each lessonShort quizzes and flashcards tied to each lesson help you check your understanding of sensitivity levels, setups and handling rules.
- Progress tracking and a certificateSee where you are across the course, pick up where you left off, and receive a certificate of completion when you finish.
Curriculum
The curriculum
The course runs in two modules: first you learn what you are protecting and where it can go, then you check tools, redact documents and handle AI work safely. It is designed to take about two hours.
Module 1Know What You Are Protecting and Where It Can Go3 lessons
1What Happens to Material You Give an AI Tool
- Describe the places a prompt or upload can end up after you press send
- List the parts of an AI session that carry sensitive information besides the main file
- Spot the difference between a personal account and a company-approved account of the same tool
2Sort Board, Acquisition and Employee Material into Sensitivity Levels
- Classify a board paper, acquisition plan or staff matter into a sensitivity level
- Explain what each level allows in terms of AI use
- Identify when a small detail raises a whole document to a higher level
3Choose Between Approved Cloud, Approved Internal and Local AI Setups
- Distinguish an approved cloud environment, an approved internal setup and a local tool
- Choose a suitable setup for a given piece of classified material
- Recognise when no available setup is suitable and the material should stay out of AI
Module 2Check, Redact and Handle Sensitive Work Safely4 lessons
4Check a Proposed AI Tool and Agree Who Signs Off
- Apply a short checklist to a proposed AI tool before using it with confidential material
- Identify who must sign off for each sensitivity level and setup
- Draft a simple sign-off table for your own team
5Redact Names, Deal Details and Figures Before Using AI
- Redact a board, acquisition or staff document using removal, replacement and generalisation
- Spot combinations of details that still identify a deal or person after redaction
- Check a redacted file for hidden content such as metadata, comments, tracked changes and text under black boxes
6Handle Prompts, Uploads, Drafts and Saved Chats
- Apply handling rules to prompts, uploads, drafts, saved chats and AI-generated summaries
- Classify an AI output by the material that went into it
- Identify the exits through which AI content can leave the approved setup
7Use AI to Expose Tradeoffs While Keeping the Decision Yours
- Write prompts that ask AI to surface tradeoffs, gaps and questions in a sensitive paper
- Check an AI response against the source before relying on it
- Explain where AI help stops and the leader's judgment and accountability begin
Who it’s for
Made for you if…
Made for: CEOs, founders, managing directors, business owners and senior leaders
A CEO preparing board papers
You want AI help tightening a board pack and finding its weak points, without the pack or its figures ending up in an unapproved tool.
A founder or managing director working on an acquisition
You want to test a deal plan with AI while keeping the target's name, values and terms protected.
A senior leader handling a sensitive staff matter
You want help structuring your thinking on a people issue without exposing the employee's identity or details.
A business owner without an IT or security background
You make the final calls and know your confidentiality habits, but want a clear, practical way to decide what may go into which AI tool.
Questions
Good to know
Do I need a technical or security background?
No. The course is written for leaders without IT or security training. You should know how confidential files are handled in your company and have used at least one general AI chat tool.
What should I have ready before starting?
Access to your company's current list of approved tools, or the name of the person who maintains it, such as your IT or security lead.
Does the course give legal advice?
No. It does not cover data protection, employment, securities or merger law. Confirm those points with your counsel.
Will it tell me which AI vendor to use or which settings to change?
No. Vendor contract terms, settings and pricing change often, so the course teaches you how to check a tool with a short list of questions. Check current vendor documentation for specifics.
Does it cover using AI to assess employee performance or discipline?
No. It covers protecting staff information when you use AI for help, not using AI to make decisions about individual employees.
Does it teach acquisition valuation or building AI agents?
No. Deal analysis methods are out of scope, and decision briefs, operating reviews and AI agent teams are covered elsewhere in the CEO track.
How long does it take?
About two hours across seven self-paced lessons.
