What you’ll be able to do
By the end, you can…
How it works
A tutor that meets you where you are
- Lessons that adapt to your levelSeven short lessons across two modules. Later lessons are written for your level as you reach them, so you are not slowed down by what you already know or rushed past what you don't.
- An AI tutor you can ask anythingType or speak your questions at any point, for example how a check applies to the kind of pack your board sees.
- Quizzes and flashcards for each lessonShort quizzes and flashcards tied to each lesson help you remember the checks when the next pack lands.
- Progress tracking and a certificateSee where you are in the course, pick up where you left off, and receive a certificate of completion when you finish.
Curriculum
The curriculum
The course runs in two modules. First you set up a conclusion-to-evidence map with an AI assistant, using approved tools; then you test the evidence and decide what to approve or send back.
Module 1Set Up the Conclusion-to-Evidence Map3 lessons
1Read a Pack Conclusion as a Claim
- Identify the main conclusions a pack asks you to approve, note or act on
- Rewrite each conclusion as a single plain-language claim
- List the conditions that would need to be true for each claim to hold
2Keep Pack Content Within Approved AI Tools
- Confirm with your IT or security lead whether a specific AI assistant is approved for confidential material
- Spot the types of pack content that must stay out of unapproved cloud tools
- Choose a safe way to proceed when the approved tool is unavailable or the content is too sensitive
3Build the Conclusion-to-Evidence Map with an AI Assistant
- Write a prompt that asks an AI assistant to map each claim to its supporting evidence in the pack
- Check the AI's map against the pack using its slide or page references
- Mark each condition as evidence offered, partly offered or not found in the pack
Module 2Test the Evidence and Decide4 lessons
4Check Whether a Figure Proves What the Claim Says
- Check whether each figure has a stated source, definition and period label
- Spot mismatched periods and competing definitions across slides
- Explain when a metric does not measure what the claim says it measures
5Rate the Sources Behind Each Piece of Evidence
- Rate each source as strong, adequate or weak, with a one-line reason
- Spot unsourced statements, outdated data and single-source claims
- Identify evidence produced by the team that benefits from the decision and choose what to cross-check
6Find Gaps and Leaps of Logic
- Spot conditions the pack assumes but never tests
- Identify missing costs and missing alternatives in a recommendation
- Explain a specific leap of logic between the evidence shown and the conclusion drawn
7Decide and Send Back Specific Questions
- Choose between approving, sending back with questions, or assigning a named owner to close gaps
- Rank gaps by whether closing them could change the decision
- Write short, specific questions tied to a claim and a slide reference
Who it’s for
Made for you if…
Made for: CEOs, founders, managing directors, business owners and senior leaders
A CEO or managing director who signs off on decisions built by others
You need a fast, repeatable way to see whether the evidence in a pack holds up before you approve it.
A founder or business owner reviewing management packs
You have seen packs that looked convincing but were thin underneath, and want to know exactly what to ask for.
A senior leader new to AI tools
You want a practical way to use an AI assistant on a pack without technical training or putting confidential content at risk.
Questions
Good to know
How long does the course take?
It is designed as a focused two-hour course of seven self-paced lessons.
Do I need experience with AI tools?
No. The course assumes you may have little experience with AI tools. You do need access to an AI assistant your company has approved for confidential material, or be willing to confirm this with your IT or security lead first.
What should I know before starting?
You should have read a board or management pack in the past year and been asked to approve or note its conclusions, and understand the main financial and operating metrics your company reports, such as revenue, margin, cash and customer measures.
How does the course handle confidential pack content?
A full lesson covers confirming which AI assistant is approved, spotting the content that must stay out of unapproved cloud tools, and choosing a safe way to proceed when the approved tool is unavailable or the content is too sensitive.
Will this help me write better board packs?
No. The course is about reviewing packs, not writing or formatting packs and slides, or redesigning metrics and reporting templates.
Is this a financial audit or legal review course?
No. Financial audit, legal, tax and regulatory review are outside its scope. It teaches you to test whether a pack's evidence supports its conclusion and what to send back when it does not.
Does the course recommend which AI product to buy?
No. Choosing, buying or configuring AI products is not covered. You work with the assistant your company has approved.
