6-lesson course · about 2 hours
Reconcile conflicting revenue and churn figures before your leadership meeting
For CEOs, founders, managing directors, business owners and senior leaders
Everything for CEOsUse AI to compare definitions, period labels and sources across finance, sales and operations reports, then walk in with one reconciled figure per metric and a clear note on what still differs.
What you’ll be able to do
By the end, you can…
How it works
A tutor that meets you where you are
- Lessons that adapt to your levelSix focused lessons, about two hours in total. Later lessons are written for your level as you reach them, using examples close to the reports you actually receive.
- An AI tutor you can ask anythingType or speak your questions at any point, such as how to handle a mid-month cut-off or how to word a definition, and get an answer in context.
- Quizzes and flashcards for each lessonShort quizzes and flashcards tied to each lesson help you check that the key distinctions, like definition versus period versus source differences, have stuck.
- Progress tracking and a certificatePick up where you left off, see what you've completed, and receive a certificate of completion when you finish.
Curriculum
The curriculum
The course runs in two modules: first you find where the numbers differ and why, then you build the reconciled sheet, the definitions log and the note you'll take into the meeting.
Module 1Find Where the Numbers Differ3 lessons
1Gather the Reports, Trace Each Source and Decide What AI Can See
- List each revenue and churn figure with the report, department and source system it came from
- Identify the extract date and any manual adjustments behind each figure, or mark them as unknown
- Choose which figures and details can go into an AI tool and which must be removed, replaced or kept out
- Write a short message asking a report owner where their figure comes from
2Use AI to Compare Metric Definitions Side by Side
- Write a prompt that asks AI to build a definition comparison table from your inventory
- Spot the common definition differences for revenue and for churn in your own reports
- Check each row the AI produces against the source report and correct or mark errors
- Draft a first-pass cause for each difference: definition, period, source, timing or unexplained
3Map Every Period Label to One Shared Calendar
- Convert each report's period label into exact start and end dates
- Flag mismatched month-end cut-offs, fiscal versus calendar months and trailing periods
- Choose one shared calendar for the reconciled sheet and state it in one line
- Use AI to draft a period mapping table and check its dates against your fiscal calendar
Module 2Build the Reconciled View3 lessons
4Write One Agreed Definition for Each Contested Metric
- Write a definition for each contested metric that states what it includes and what it excludes
- Test a draft definition against edge cases from your own business
- Rename departmental variants so they keep their purpose without competing for the same name
- Name the owner who signs off each definition
5Build the Reconciled Metric Sheet and Start the Definitions Log
- Build a reconciled metric sheet showing one figure per metric with its definition, period, source and owner
- Show each department's figure next to the reconciled figure with the difference and its cause
- Create a definitions log entry for each decision, recording who owns it and when it was agreed
- Check the sheet's figures and arithmetic yourself before you share it
6Write the What-Still-Differs Note for the Leadership Meeting
- Write a short note that states each remaining gap, its cause and its owner
- Separate explained differences from ones still under investigation
- Use AI to tighten the note's wording and check that it does not add claims you have not verified
- Open the meeting discussion with the reconciled sheet and the note
Who it’s for
Made for you if…
Made for: CEOs, founders, managing directors, business owners and senior leaders
A CEO or founder whose leadership meetings stall on competing figures
You get a repeatable way to arrive with one agreed number per metric and a short explanation of any remaining gap.
A managing director receiving separate finance, sales and operations reports
You learn to trace each figure to its source and period so you can ask report owners precise questions rather than general ones.
A senior leader who reads dashboards confidently but doesn't build them
The course works with the reports you already get and a simple spreadsheet, with AI drafting the comparisons and you checking every figure.
Questions
Good to know
What do I need before I start?
Copies of your latest finance, sales and operations reports for the same reporting period, a working knowledge of how your company defines revenue and churn, and the ability to paste or type figures into a spreadsheet.
How long does it take?
About two hours across six self-paced lessons.
Will I have to put sensitive company figures into an AI tool?
No. The first lesson covers deciding which figures and details can go into an AI tool and which should be removed, replaced or kept out of unapproved cloud tools.
Does AI produce the reconciled numbers for me?
AI drafts comparison tables, period mappings and note wording. You check every row against the source reports and verify the sheet's figures and arithmetic yourself before sharing it.
Does the course cover dashboards or forecasting?
No. It doesn't cover building dashboards or BI tools, forecasting, rebuilding accounting, CRM or billing systems, or choosing strategy from the reconciled numbers.
Which metrics does it focus on?
Revenue and churn, plus any other metric your departments contest. It does not cover designing a company-wide KPI framework or statistical cohort analysis.
What will I have at the end?
A reconciled metric sheet, a definitions log with owners and dates, and a what-still-differs note ready for your leadership meeting.
